Metal Purchasing
Earthbound Recycling buys all types of copper including copper wire, bare or insulated, copper pipe, copper gutters, sheet copper, telephone wire, and all other things copper except burnt wire as it’s illegal to burn wire with insulation. We also buy aluminum cans and other types of aluminum, along with all types of brass, stainless steel, electric motors, O2 sensors from vehicles, and lead, including lead car batteries.
Steel Recycling
We also buy steel, iron, any small or large steel items (even with foreign materials), water heaters, pipe, washers, dryers, bicycles, fencing, lawn mowers, and appliances. Refrigerators, deep freezes, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and any other appliance containing refrigerant can be recycled for a fee of $20 each.
Paint and Chemicals
Earthbound Recycling is one of the few recycling centers in the region to accept unwanted paint six days a week. Interior and exterior paint, along with household chemicals (anything that you can buy at a hardware store) can be recycled for a fee of 30¢ a pound, can and all. The items must be in their original container with the label intact. New or used motor oil and antifreeze can be in any container.
Electronics Recycling
We recycle almost anything that uses a cord or a battery for NO CHARGE. It is completely free to drop off old computer towers, all-in-one computers, laptops, printers, cell phones, home phones, and office phones, tablets, routers and modems, laptop chargers, hair dryers, the list goes on and on! If it has a cord, it can be recycled. Certain things we do have to charge for, which you’ll find below.
Hazardous E-Scrap
Not all electronics can be easily recycled, some items have dangerous material which must be handled carefully and there is a cost associated with these items. TVs or monitors of any type or size cost 40¢ a pound to recycle and there’s a fee of $5.00 to drop off a microwave oven. Prices for batteries and bulbs can be found below.
Single Stream Recycling
For those who don’t have curbside recycling available, Earthbound Recycling offers single stream recycling. We charge a flat fee of $4 for up to a 30 gallon bag of single stream recycling. This includes mixed plastic and glass containers, tin and aluminum cans, paper, and cardboard. There is no limit to the amount that can be dropped off.
Corrugated Cardboard
There is a $2 minimum fee for cardboard recycling with additional fees based on the amount of cardboard you have to recycle. The average pickup truck load is $5 and that’s based on an 8 foot truck bed. All labeled moving boxes are a free drop off.
Batteries and Bulbs
We charge $1.25 a pound to recycle Alkaline batteries. There is no charge to recycle Li-Ion, NiCd, or NiMH. And we actually pay for lead batteries. In addition to batteries, we also accept fluorescent tubes for recycling. 4 foot tubes or smaller are $1 per tube, tubes longer than 4 feet are $2, and CFL bulbs are 65¢ each. If you see the Hg symbol for Mercury on a bulb, it is not safe to throw away.
Last Chance Resale Shop
We receive a wide variety of items here at Earthbound Recycling, and a lot of it is still in great shape, sometimes we even get stuff that’s never been used! It would be a shame to just scrap things that still have so much life left in them. Come see us and find that hidden gem you just can’t live without!
